  5. Sometimes I find that words fail to truly express what one may be feeling… I feel that grief is the last act of love for those we have lost. I love & will cherish you forever Nonna. And where there is deep grief, there is always great love. I will miss you Nonna, yet you will live forever in my memories & heart.

  7. Nonna you were such a courageous women – for picking up you family from Sicily to a country that you didn’t know, couldn’t speak the language, had no idea about the culture and raising 3 girls to boot whilst earning an income … this sort of optimistic strength is such a rarity these days.

You are also my inspiration for my chosen career path and why I love food! You are the reason why I now own a Gastro Pub, you (and mum’s) cooking and your relationship of hospitaility is where I get it all from … you taught mum how to be the best cook I know and it’s not just the delicious food but the art of conversations – you were the heart beat of the household and I always felt your warm presence of love, warmth and protection… Goodbye Nonna..
Love alway Foni & Chris xx
