Your Daughter-in-law ShereeMy dad was a man of high integrity, loyalty, patience and highly respected throughout his life by his family, friends and work colleagues. He was very talented in many ways. In his early years dad was a volunteer fireman and involved in local sports. When i was young his passion was baseball. A cabinet maker by trade and a perfectionist, he adapted those skills throughout his life and was very creative. With his meticulous building skills he made kitchens, furniture and many bird aviaries. We his children have all inhereted these skills. I remember one xmas we spent all holidays building a massive birdcage. We kept a large variety of birds including finches, canaries, doves, quail, pheasants, budgies but his real passion was canaries. He always had canaries and they loved him as much as he loved them. I remember going on bush walks through the Dandenongs as a family looking for lyrebirds. Dad would be listening for their calls. He would spend hours tending to his garden and allways had a spectacular garden which we have all tried to emulate. He had a special connection with the little grandkids and great grandkids. He has allways been very supportive of me in anything i have taken on and taught me to stand up for what was right. I never ever remember dad getting mad at me even when i smashed the glass in the front door with a cricket bat or when i dragged his lawn mower up into the tree house. Probably meant I didn’t get up to as much mischief as he did when he was a kid. Your cheeky and dry sense of humour kept us all entertained and will be missed by all who knew you. Rest in peace dad. Love always. Your son Greg

I, one of your 9 grand children love you dearly and miss you so very much. You were a great man always full of cheer and brightening up our day with your humour.
10 months ago I travelled down from QLD to see you and I am so glad I did. You had met my eldest daughter Zephyra a couple of times and I thought it was time for you to meet my youngest Finley. I didn’t know what to expect when I walked in and saw you in the nursing home, as it had been several years between our last visit. To my surprise you were full of life, cheer and cracking jokes, you had us all laughing. It was so nice to see you like this, and it’s a nice memory to be left with. You adored your great grand children just as much as you did your grand children and your own children. My girls look back at photos and say how much they love their great poppy bob. May you Rest In Peace pop. Love and miss your tight hugs xxxRobert was a great grandpa to both of us, I still remember the times when we were really young playing video games with him and playing table tennis, learning many skills from him. It’s sad to realise that the conversations over the years will never be continued and you will be missed. Hope you are in a more peaceful place now and the family will miss you.

Love Odin and HenriPop was a great grandfather. He led the way for us Allan children in his actions and the way he conducted himself. His persistence, hard working nature, loyalty to our family and goal orientated thinking has definitely helped shape my thinking and how I live my life. I spent a lot of time with Nanna and Pop in my early years when we both lived at the Gold Coast. In those days, he taught me a lot about birds and nature. I was always in awe of his extensive knowledge of birds and his incredible bird aviary. I am forever grateful to have known him well and I feel that he has really influenced the person and man I am today. Rest in peace Pop. Your Grandson Michael.
