WHYKES, Elaine Margaret (née Salvado)

Born on December 31, 1933. Passed away February 10, 2024.

Passed away peacefully at Latrobe Regional Hospital on Saturday 10 February 2024, with her loving family around her.

Aged 90 years. Much loved and loving wife of Don (dec.) for 64 years.

Loving mother to Linda, Rod, and Les.  Friend and loving mother-in-law to Tony (dec.), Nello, Karen, and Kathy.

Devoted Nan to her Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchild (Tate).

Always in our hearts and deeply missed.

My beautiful Mum, you were beautiful inside and out.  You were my best friend and biggest supporter.  I could talk to you about anything.  I am so lucky to have had you in my life for as long as I did, but it doesn’t seem long enough. You were always there for me, and I tried to be there and look after you too.

I will miss your big generous loving and caring heart, your wonderful sense of humour, your funny ways and sayings and your big smile that would light up the room.

I will treasure every moment we spent together, and I will miss you every day for the rest of my life.

You are in a better place now.

Love Always, Linda and Nello

My beautiful Nan, my heart is broken and I’m still trying to comprehend that you are gone.

I will miss everything about you.  We were so lucky to have you as long as we did, but it still wasn’t long enough.

Love, Shell and Dave

‘She’ll be apples!’

Nan, the little kids will miss you so very much, from the beautiful clothes you gave them to the Freddo frogs you snuck in for them, to the little snuggles and stories on your lap.

We will miss your infectious laugh and those out of nowhere one-liners that kept us laughing.

We will forever miss you.

Love, Ava, Noah, and Elena and the all the Carbone family.

A loving mum and nan whose smile and positive outlook on life would light up a room. Mum, you will be greatly missed by us all.

All our love, Rod, Karen, Xander, Michael, Emily and Rohan.

Forever in our hearts.

Mum, to say that you will be missed doesn’t do it justice.  You were the most caring, loving and giving person I have or ever will know.

I’m going to miss your laugh as much as anything because every time life set you a challenge you threw your head back and laugh your way through it.

You always provided a good role model for everyone around you.

All our love,

Les, Kathy, Kids and Grandkids.
