Very sorry to hear of Ailsa’s passing.
I rang Jane Paynter for her birthday the other day and she gave me the details of the funeral service.
I watched the service on streaming.
It was a lovely service. I especially liked the music. I am a Nat King Cole and Satchmo fan myself.
I remember talking to Ailsa in the late 1970s after one of trips around Australia about the increasing press for Aboriginal land rights. She was on the ball.
I also remember the Vorbach home milk deliveries in Yallourn way back when.
Auntie Pearl Gloz is still alive down here in Noble Park. She is 99 and despite almost total hearing loss she is still switched on. I have been sending her emails, because her son John has been the only one allowed to visit her.
Jane tells me your health hasn’t been all that great.
I hope you are as well as possible.
Regards,
John Crane.
