  1. I am very sad to hear of Lill’s passing this morning. I have very special memories of our families times together as I was growing up and sharing so many special events in our lives. I know that my father treasured his friendship with Laurie and Lill. I will never forget the support and gentle guidance I got from Lill after dad passed and I truly realised what a special lady she really was. Lill and Laurie’s dedication to each other was so strong and caring it was the standard to aspire to!
To Jenny and John and their family please accept our heartfelt sympathy and condolences at the loss of your mum and Nan who showed by the way she lived she was an exceptional person who gave selflessly to so many. Thank you Lill

  4. My thoughts are with Jenny, John & all the family on the sad passing of Lil. My thoughts go back many years to the friendship of my late parents with Lil & Laurie. Lil was a strong, resilient lady always smiling and jolly. She cared for Laurie for many years as his health suffered and after his death continued on in her resilient way. She was so happy to move to LV Village and her little home.
She was so proud of jenny and John and their boys . and always spoke lovingly of the great grandchiidren.
I will miss visiting Lil and chatting about our families.
    I will remember her forever
    Rest in peace lovely lady..

  7. I loved catching up with Lil, it was usually only a couple of times a year and she always wanted to know what was happening in my world and asked about my whole family. I always felt welcomed loved and cared for in her presence. She treated me the same as her grandsons and I loved being a part of her family.
My deepest condolences to the entire Blain family. I know Lil was incredibly proud of all of you and the wonderful people that you are..

  8. Dear Jen, John, Loz, Andrew, Jack, Cheng, Nerissa, Evelyn and the kidlets,
My thoughts go to you all at such a sad time. Lil was a wonderful mum, nana and supernana. To those of us who weren’t family, she was a kind and caring person with a slightly evil sense of humour.
We are all the better for having known her.
    Much love,

  14. Hi Aunty Lil – It has take me so long to think of what to say as words can not express the sadness I feel and the appreciation I have for you and Laurie when I was growing up. The countless days spent with you both, learning about cooking, logging and Hillmans. My first car was a Hillman Hunter – 1967 and Laurie told me “its a good car” and a good car it was. The hours I spent in the garage with Laurie learning about motors, passing him tools and you reminding me not to get greasy as you didn’t want to send me home dirty.
Lil you have touched many lives in such a positive way and you will forever be remembered as a beautiful and caring soul who had time for everyone who needed it. RIP lovely lady, I will miss you xoxo

  17. Lil was an amazing woman who was always quick with a smile, a story or a laugh. In a crowded room if you were talking with Lil she would make you feel like there was only the two of you present.

  18. Super your warmth, wit and strength remain an inspiring example for me and many others as to how a life is lived well. Your sausage rolls on the kitchen table at Lake Entrance with the cricket on the radio in the background will be an enduring memory that will stay with me for life.

  19. Lil i will always remember you and all the laughs we used to have together. I knew the first day we meet you we would get along. When i picked up your hand and waved it at gabby and instead of being offended you laughed, will always remember your laugh. Will miss you LIl.

  20. We first met dear Lil in 1976 when she demonstrated true country hospitality to us, lively children in tow, plus overseas visitors. Over the years her kindness and support continued with thoughts and gestures. Our last visits were in smoke-filled Moe in January. The outside world did not matter – we were inside with Lil sharing memories. It has been a privilege to know you, Lil. Heart-felt condolences to Jenny and John and all the extended family.
