February 22, 2025This week I said my last goodbye to my beautiful dad.
I have spent this weekend going through old photos and listening to mum tell Janine and I stories of his life and our childhood.Dad was the type of person who never sat still, always out on the farm, fixing or building something. Sport was his happy place, introducing us to Water skiing and us introducing him to all the joys and expense of horse riding. In all he did he got fully involved, he was never a drop the kids off at sports dad. If we were involved, he was involved and visa versa.
Dad was the President of Latrobe Valley Water Ski Club for 29 years and the District Commissioner of the local Pony Club Branch. He never missed a working bee and drove us all over the state competing in both sports.
.
We could all take a leaf out of his book and live life to the fullest, never sit around and wish you’d done something, just get out there and have a go.We will miss you so much, and especially your silly sayings, like get your silly galoots on (gumboots)
We were so lucky to have a father that was so investing in us and loved us and his grandchildren dearly

February 24, 2025My thoughts are with Christine and all of the family at this sad time. Syd was a great Man and we never heard him curse or talk bad about Anything or anyone in the many years we played Saturday golf together, He was a True Gentleman. He would often recall his life to us about his water skiing days and life on the farm etc. He was not just a friend but more like an older brother to me in his later years . Rest in peace now Syd. XOXO
February 25, 2025Our heartfelt condolences to Chris and the whole family.

Syd was an inspiration to the LVWSC and helped make the ski club what it is today. His leadership and genuine care for everyone involved was legendary.
Memories of him for the Meredith family will not be forgotten.to all of Syds family, we are thinking of you at this sad time. Syd was highly thought of by our family, and both mum and dad regarded him as one of their skiing family and had many fond memories of him doing handstands on the disk in the many ski shows our families performed together. Deb Gordois and Terry Stewart.
February 25, 2025The Latrobe Valley Water Ski Club extends its condolences to Chris and all the Payne Family.

March 6, 2025A poem for my Poppy by Zali Stevens
Everlasting Poppy
Each petal whispers a memory that will never fade,
As if those seeds were sown from all you chose;
An everlasting poppy blooms for love that’s unafraid.Born of the gentle love that always stayed,
The crimson poppy sways as twilight glows,
Each petal whispers a memory that will never fade.I walk among these blooms in the quiet everglade,
Their vibrant hues tell tales that everyone knows,
An everlasting poppy blooms for love that’s unafraid.The sun may set but love will not degrade
Your laughter lingers in summer’s throes,
Each petal whispers a memory that will never fade.With every day the field grows a new blade,
Your spirit dances where the gentle breeze flows.
An everlasting poppy blooms for love that’s unafraid.Your crimson heart a shining beacon in the shade,
March 8, 2025
I remember you where every flower grows;
Each petal whispers a memory that will never fade.
An everlasting poppy blooms for love that’s unafraid.Poppy,
You were the funniest man I’ve ever known, and no matter what, you could always make me crack a smile. I’m so grateful for the time we shared and you will always be the first person I think of when skiing or the farm are mentioned – or even more specifically, when I get in my car and think about turning my wheels before I’m moving.
I will never forget the stories about the horses on the farm and I’ll always be jealous that you moved into town before I could be a part of it. More than anything, I’ll miss our chats—your stories, your advice, and the way you always made me laugh.
Thank you for everything, Poppy. I love you, and I’ll miss you always.
