  5. Michael was first diagnosed 14 years ago with sudden onset of symptoms due to Fragile X Premutation Syndrome (FAXTAS). I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation first to Fragile X foundation and then for the many skilled medical /health workers from Latrobe Regional Hospital, and later to the various teams at Box Hill Hospital who brought him back from the brink so many times. Lastly I express sincere thanks to Michael’s GP Dr Eugene Goh from Eldercare, who provided thoughtful medical guidance through the last five years up to his oversite of palliative care. 6. Dear Jane,
Please accept my heart felt sympathy at your loss of Michael. You always spoke so highly of and cared so tenderly for Michael ever since I met you over ten years ago. Your love for one another was evident when you spoke about him, or I saw you both together. However, what stood out most is your unwavering commitment to Michael’s care. Michael was a lovely man, and I will always remember him as my childhood optometrist. You, Jane are kind, generous and brave. My thoughts are with you and your families at this time. Sending my love, Jenny Moloney
