My thoughts are with you.Margaret Bruerton.
August 18, 2026John will be so deeply missed.
When he first came to Heritage Manor, he didn’t want to be here, didn’t want to join in, didn’t want any of us fussing over him. But slowly, he let us in. And once he did, he became one of our people. One of the ones who made the days lighter. One of the ones who made us laugh until our stomachs hurt.He was cheeky, grumpy, stubborn, hilarious and underneath all of that, he was warm. He was ours. It doesn’t feel real that he’s no longer with us. The building feels different. The days feel different. We feel different. Because he mattered to us.
As a Lifestyle team, and as individuals, we didn’t just “work with John”, we loved him. We built real relationships with him. We shared jokes, eye-rolls, silly moments, quiet moments. He gave us so much joy. So much personality. So much of himself. And we will carry that forever.
Janet, you became part of our family too.
The way you loved John. Fiercely, protectively, wholeheartedly was something we all admired. You showed up for him every single day. You advocated for him. You laughed with us. You joined in. You became woven into our routines, our activities, our silliness, our care. You are an incredible woman. Truly. And everything you did for John, everything you shared with us, everything you brought into the room, it mattered. We saw it. We appreciated it. We loved having you with us.
We are thinking of you. We are hurting with you. And we are sending every bit of love we have your way.
Lots of love,
August 18, 2026

August 19, 2026Sorry to hear of John’s passing. John was a very active member of Mathison Park Committee at its beginning. He often cut the grass with his tractor and later he became ‘Mr Slash’ and was a regular at our working bee’s. Later we used to see him around the neighbourhood with the bus occasionally parked in the estate.

John was the best kind of person, i loved caring for him, he as the sort of person who made you love aged care. he had a special spot in my heart and i had a lot of time for John. You always knew it was breakfast time as john would announce PORRIDGE as he made his way into the dining room. it made everyone laugh.
