Passed away peacefully on 9 November at Maryvale Private Hospital. Only daughter of Cecil & Eliza (both dec), sister to Raymond and Morris (both stillborn), cousin to Marion, Elaine & Gary Kilmartin, Barry (dec), Maureen(dec) and Kevin Lees. (dec). A caring and generous soul who was an integral member of our family and shared so many wonderful celebratory occasions with us. Auntie Marg, you were never one to shy away from an adventure and Amy and I were so thankful for her to make the journey to Canada for our wedding in 2015. It made our very memorable experience that little more special.

Forever in our hearts. Simon, Amy, Charlie and Wren.

Kelowna, Canada”

  3. A great neighbour and a kind soul.

When some whinged about staff parking at the front and walking by, Marg always offered for people to park beside her house – she said she enjoyed seeing people going to work and returning home so happy!

Her yard was the go to shop for lemons when I needed them and only recently I told her that while her lemons were good, the oranges that she’d finally started to grow were 3 times better!

If there were more neighbours like Marg in the world it would be a better place for many to live.

    RIP Marg

  7. Marg, I cannot believe that I have known you for nearly 50 years after first meeting you when I started at O’HD as a 17 year old junior. I must say that sometimes I was a bit scared of you but over the years of working with you and getting to know you I soon found out that your bark was worse than your bite. We have shared a lot throughout our years at O’HD; those huge Christmas dinners we used to put on at Christmas and the bus trips to Melbourne for our Office Christmas Party and who can forget those absolutely amazing sponges you made when it was someone’s birthday. Even after you retired you were still part of the O’HD family, continuing to pay into our Tattslotto Syndicate (even though we never won anything) and even up to this year you were part of the O’HD Footy Tipping Competition and for many years after you retired you still made me one of those famous sponges for my birthday. I have still got your Yo Yo recipe and one day I will try to make them and when I do I will think of you. I hope I have better luck with them than Peter did with your sponge recipe. I know that there are others from the old O’HD Family who share in my sentiments when I say that we are sad to say good-bye to you. Condolences to all of your family and also to Verna’s family

  13. A special neighbour and friend from many years ago. You and your parents welcomed me when I shifted next door. You also welcomed Mum and Dad and later on Peter. We were proud to have you as Jessica’s God Mother. We were very fortunate to enjoy time spent with your Mum, Dad and you. Sorry we shifted. Although we didn’t get to see each other as much after we shifted, each time we did, it was as if it was yesterday. You were always such a bright, cheery and caring lady. I had been thinking of you recently and called in a couple of times but you weren’t home. Very sad news. Never forgotten. Condolences to her family and friends. RIP Marg xo

  14. Back when Marg and myself were in our early teens, I used to visit her place as we both lived in the same street. I remember on one visit I mentioned to her that I was a fanatical “The Phantom” comic reader. She then left the room and came back with a 2ft high batch of comics, including dozens of “The Phantom”, for me to keep. There were so many she had to help me carry them all home! I couldn’t believe someone could be so generous without giving it any thought! Suffice to say, I was madly reading comics for the next 12 months! Sadly, I didn’t see much of Marg in the latter years but I’ll always be grateful for the kind, generous person that she was! Sympathies to all her family and friends and may she now rest in peace. xx💞🌹
