Born on February 16, 1938. Passed away August 17, 2020.

From Moe.

Passed away peacefully at LRH on the 17th of August 2020 aged 82.

Loved and loving husband of Markella.

Much loved father and father in law of Hrisoula and Christopher, Stathoula (Dec), Peri and Evvy.

Loved Papou of Nikala, Yanni, Rafael and Alexander.

To many John would have been known from the Moe Cafe in Moore St Moe between 1970 to 1983

Trafalgar fish and chip shop in Contingent St Trafalgar between 1987-1996 and lastly, Savige’s Road service station in Moe from 1997 till he retired quite a few years ago from after developing dementia.

He was a hardworking family gentleman that respected everyone and his generosity was second to none. He will be sadly missed by many to those who knew him with a lifetime of memories

 

 

 

Funeral Notice
Due to the COVID19 restrictions the Funeral Service for Mr Ioannis (John) Hortis will be a private funeral, by invitation only.

A Service to celebrate John’s life will be live streamed from the Greek Orthodox Church Morwell, on Monday (24th August 2020) commencing at 11:00am.

He was an icon of the town, always up for a chat, loved listening to his stories and always a gentleman. He will be greatly missed, May He Rest in Peace.
