  23. I met and worked with John in 1993 in Bangkok. I owe a great deal of gratitude to John as he helped me to understand how to work and live in Asia. More importantly John introduced me through his girlfriend, Nid, from Buriram, to her cousin Wanphen in 1994. Wanphen and I have been married for almost 25 years. We still visit Buriram on a regular basis and always say hello to Nid and John’ s son Benny. John and I were very close while I lived in Thailand for 5 years. We had a hell of a lot of fun running around the city. He was a real character and I will miss him. John and Wanphen Boyd Canada.
