He was very close to the late Bob Hayes whose family join in this tribute.Uncle Len and Aunty Gwen gave me all of my best childhood memories where I spent my school holidays at Pipe Grange. He taught me how to milk a cow, how to ride a motorbike and how to pluck a chook. I am so grateful that he was able to spend his last years at home on the farm surrounded by his children and grandchildren, laughter and love. He enjoyed the company of old and young alike. I’m glad I spent time with him only a few weeks ago at Billy’s first birthday party. On that beautiful day we sat in the sunshine, watching all the babies and toddlers running around his garden, chatting to anyone who pulled up a chair. He was a quiet, kind and gentle man. He worked hard but his life was rich. He has earned his rest.
