  7. Dear Barb, Brad and Wendy, Rach and Darren,
    Madelaine, Josh and Des.

Thoughts are with you all and sorry we can’t be there to send him off.
We have known Ralph since our kids were at primary school at Hazelwood nth for over 40yrs. The boys were in cubs, Barb and Ray cub leaders, scouts and venturers and Ralph was there to help out in anyway he could.. we had some fun times with Ralph being the expert in abseiling, which we did at Petersons lookout and Bryce’s Gorge. I’m sure a lot of the kids will remember that and carrying the rope in. We had to ru n a stunt at a Venturer camp and along with Ralph had some great fun watching all the kids accomplish it.
He was a great community person and baseball was another connection with him and Barb always doing their bit and more.
Ralph was in the CFA for over 60yrs and what a practical input he had and passed on his knowledge to others, he gave so many kids much pleasure as Santa on the fire truck xmas eve.
We did a lot if push bike riding together, as he said he was always at his fittest after a 7 day ride. Melbourne to Sydney was the longest ride and we remember eating cherries in the gutter of the main street of Bombala with Ralph. He always had a good whistle to let us know where the camp was. Ralph called a spade a spade and that’s what we liked. Lots of memories here and we are sure Barb and the kids will have the same. RIP Ralph. Ray and Mal (Mr and Mrs B )

  17. Mrs G, Brad and Wendy, Rach and Darren, Madelaine, Josh and Des.
Condolences and strength to you all at this sad time, but also at a time of much pride in the Husband, Father, and Gramps that Mr G was. I am eternally grateful for the care and support Ralph gave myself and all Brads mates through our shared sporting and scouting interests. Raplhs encouragement and mentoring in emergency management of us young fire brigade kids were skills that i took into my working life and remain with me today. I fondly remember the 2 weeks of being woken up by having my nose blocked at 530 in the morning while sharing a tent with him riding to Sydney, but I cannot say i was that fond of it at the time.
A life well lived, supporting his family in all they achieved, serving his community at every turn, all the while soldering on through his own health battles without fuss.
Thank You Mr G for everything you did for us, and may you rest easy. Wayne, Maryke, Nathan and Alex

  22. In Loving Memory of Ralph

May you soar high like an eagle above,
    Wings outstretched in eternal love.
A kind and gentle soul, so true,
Who gave his heart in all he’d do.

The fields you once walked now rest in peace,
Your work is done, your soul released.
An angel now, with watchful grace,
Still smiling down on every face.

You gave so much, asked for so little,
Your spirit strong, your heart so brittle.
A friend to many, loved by all—
In our hearts, you’ll never fall.

So rest now, Ralph, your journey’s done,
Beneath the stars, beneath the sun.
And may your light forever be,
    A beacon for your family.

With our heartfelt love and deepest condolences to dear Barb and all the family.
