Our HADDEN family go back to 1964 when we moved to BUDGEREE and attended to local school. Gladys and Alister along with all the Hall’s and Beamish’s families were intertwined in all the community activities of neighbours helping neighbours whether it was in hay making, harvesting or fire prevention when it was needed.
Rest in Peace, Gladys.
Fond regards from Brenda(HADDEN) Kanavan and the HADDEN family.Such a beautiful, kind and caring lady. A great influence throughout my teen years. So supportive and always made me feel welcome.

Joan Janson (Pattison)Our abiding memory of Gladys is from a visit to her and Alistair’s hobby farm, which felt enormous to us Brits. From the very first hug, she made us feel so welcome and part of the wider family.
She insisted we see the farm properly — from the back of a tractor trailer — while she effortlessly hefted bales of hay off the sides to feed the cattle. A true force of nature, even in her late seventies.
We next met Gladys when she travelled over to the UK from Australia for Brock and Steph’s wedding. It was a truly special occasion to have the Australian family here, with Gladys very much at the helm — full of energy, vitality, and joy.
We were so very sorry to hear of her passing, and will always remember her warmth, strength, and zest for life.
All our love to all the family Claire and Gary and family
February 1, 2026We love you so much, Grandma/ Great Granny.
Your absolute warmth, steadiness, and support meant the world to us. You had such a beautiful heart and a smile that lifted us up.
I never forgot when you told me how you took the young calves in, and then seeing you on the farm took your love and strength to another level. Your love for the outdoors has been passed down, and I can only hope we can show a glimpse of your true steadiness, love, and strength with the boys.
When we were at Philip Island, it was the first time I truly knew about your love for pudding – from then on I absolutely loved sharing this with you. You took everything in your stride, and you coming over to the UK will always mean so much to us.
We love you dearly.
Lots of love & cuddles always,

Condolences and thinking of you all Ian, Val, Jeanette and Max and families.
So many memories, so much fun, argy bargy, and love. Auntie Glad, have fun in the next space – lots of love, DavidMy deepest condolences to Glady’s family. In recent years I was fortunate enough to meet Gladys over many chats and I enjoyed the shared moments. Gladys was reminiscing about her favourite Uncle Frank, my late father. She enlightened me with her stories about living on the farm, raising her children and supporting her late husband Alister.

A true pioneer and caring lady.
Listening to Gladys was winding back the clock, a truely inspiration and joyous occassions. Not to mention her lovely old fashion cooking, always making me feel at home.
I will miss our chats.
To Jeanette, Ian and all her family. You should be very proud of your mum.
Again, my condolences to you all.
