  2. Doreen
A never ending pot of tea, strong white and no sugar. Milk in first.
The endless pot of soup that seemed to percolate the whole of winter. Your beloved Len and Nan
Your beautiful garden, that was literally an episode of Australian country garden. Your cupboard of collectable plates and little animals, Your never ending energy and capacity to give, give to your family, your friends, your community. Never ever judgemental, never had a nasty bone in your body. Always there for your daughters and then later your grandkids. How I loved you Dor, Thankyou for embracing me and my sister Trace as 18/19 year old clueless kiwis getting off the train at Moe. Getting picked up by Ange and then my very first cup of tea with you- white no sugar of course.
Thanks for sharing me with your beautiful family and I shall never forget you wonderful Doreen Falk

  3. I have such lovely memories of Mrs Falk from when I was a little boy. I think I first met Ange at kindy, although knowing me back then, I may have just wandered up to the Falks’ house one day and decided I liked it there!

With only daughters in the family, I was the little rascal who just kept turning up and hanging around. But Mrs Falk always made me feel completely welcome.

I remember her as beautifully dressed, elegant and quietly confident, but most of all, incredibly calm and kind. Ange and I would put on little shows and Mrs Falk was always there, smiling and encouraging us.

As the years went by I saw her less often, but it was always lovely to bump into her. And whenever I think of Mrs Falk and those childhood days, the memories make me smile.

Mrs Falk and all the family were a very special part of my childhood, and I will always remember her with great affection and gratitude for the kindness she showed that little rascal who kept turning up at her door.

The world just lost one of its best people. RIP ❤️

  4. For a few years, Doreen Falk and I lived up the road from each other – she in Newborough and me in Coalville – and formed an unexpected friendship that dissolved our 30 year age difference. We loved plants and drinking tea in her spectacular garden. Sometimes I would join Dor for dinner and once we went all out and had candles on her beautifully laid table. Very proper and so much fun. Another time we went to Melbourne on a tour bus with pre-packed sandwiches and a thermos to see Torville and Dean’s ice skating spectacular.
Doreen was wonderful company. Steady, considered, respectful.
She was a good friend and I loved her.
    Bless you Doreen.

  5. I feel so grateful to have had so many special times with Doreen. Such a loving and generous soul.Never judging, always welcoming. We shared numerous cups of tea, lots of laughs, meals, always a fabulous spread, with friends and family. Small dogs, the luckiest dogs, whom she adored.. Gardens too, certainly had the magic touch and created such a beautiful space to share with others. Doreen was and remains an inspiration. It was lovely to have a chat a couple of months ago. I loved Doreen and I will miss her

  6. Doreen was a second Mum to me for 27 years! We loved each other dearly and despite our age difference we shared many loves, interests and perspectives in common. Our conversations always seemed to lift our spirits and soothe our souls. We liked each others way in the world. I miss hearing her voice each day – what a tremendous character!

  8. Doreen. Interested in others. Curious and kind. I love how thoughtful you were toward all the little children in your life. Audrey and Geordie were the recipients of many pairs of socks for Christmas and birthdays and $5:00 for a good report card. Your generosity and loving kindnesses will be remembered.
