  4. Geoff was a genuine saviour to us at LYB.
He took on the role of representative for employees during a relatively sedate environment. As the demand of that role increased exponentially, it was met equally by Geoff. His strength, determination and integrity proved to be the rock we all needed to support us.
As Geoff’s illness tried to take over, he took it in his stride and continued to offer his unwavering support.
Geoff made an impact on each person that worked with him or reached out to him for help. The lessons we learned from him and the confidence we felt in his presence during those times was invaluable and to try to put that in words is beyond my capability.
Geoff never treated his position like a job. It honestly felt like he only wanted to help out of the goodness of his heart. While he was difficult to disagree with or persuade, it showed his knowledge, integrity, and realistic expectations of the law (and people). He always did what he could to give the best and fairest outcome.
While Geoff gave to all within the Union district he served, there’s over 150 people at LoyYangB that owe their careers, their lifestyle, and their sanity to Geoff in a debt that could never be repaid.
On behalf of all at LYB: Thanks for everything Dykey, R.I.P.

  12. For a short period of time at Yallourn W Power Station, Geoff was my team leader. Later in time, he became a very capable union advocate. 13. Geoff was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend. Our paths first crossed in 1995 at the Children’s Hospital where we immediately were struck by his kindness and generosity.
Since 2005 circumstances and distance have meant fewer occasions to enjoy Geoff’s company but his memory will live long in our hearts.
