Maz, we first met when I was a graduate nurse, you taught me so much about nursing and about life. You were always the voice of reason. You always loved a giggle, we shared a love for travel, especially America. I drove you to and from work often over our five years working together, and I cherished our little chats. We remained friends after I moved away, you attended my wedding and every birthday would send me a beautiful handmade card. Each November I’d receive photos of your beautiful peonies in bloom, as you knew they were my favourite flower. I’m so glad we remained in touch for over 14 years, that I got to share photos and updates of my three babies with you, and that you were there to help me through the pain of losing another. You really were my “work mum”, and always held that place in my heart long after I left LRH.

I still cannot believe you are gone, and will hold our last conversation close to my heart, a mere three weeks ago yet it feels like a lifetime ago now.

May you rest in heavenly peace Maz, until we meet again.
