  6. What a loverly lady! I remember as a kid I went to Mrs Doorty’s every Saturday and done shopping errands for her! The highlight was every now and then I had to go to Riddifords Chemist and pick up a lipstick for her and i didnt have to give them money for it! That amazed me! mind you she paid me well! 2 shillings.! Thinking of you all at this sad time.

  12. To our dearest Nan,

Nan was a mother figure to us all and always had our best interest at heart. She worried about us constantly and needed to know were safe. Any news of bad weather, she would always ring to see if we were ok even if the storm was miles away. Nan was someone we could confide in, and helped us in many ways throughout our lives for which we are very grateful and thankful.

Nan liked it most when we were all together having a good laugh and laughed along with us even if she might not have fully got the jokes. She could be stubborn and cheeky at times, which earnt her the nickname ‘naughty Nanny’ but it was all in good fun.
Growing up, Nan loved having us and our friends over and always cooked up a feast of our favourite foods, something she continued to do up until recent years. No-one will ever be able to make the corned beef, pimply meat stew and chicken wings like Nan did. She loved to nurture us, and it always brings back lovely memories around the kitchen bench together.

We were very lucky to have a Nan that loved us so much and was such a big part of our lives.

For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest.
So go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts, we’ll eternally keep.

Nan, you were very much loved and will be greatly missed.

Your loving grandchildren Claire and Padraig, Julian and Roxley, and Kieren, and great grandchildren Willis, Jay and Allie.
