Whenever George and I got together or talked on the phone, we always ended up laughing about something. George was a great guy who never failed to look on the bright side of life. Whenever I asked him how things were going, he invariably said, “It’s all OKAY!”

He loved his family dearly, as they loved him..
I miss him, no doubt, as many, many other people will.

When I was working on the Community radio with George over many years, he was always a cheerful and supportive colleague and friend. While I have not had contact with George for some years, after I left the valley for work reasons, I will always have a warm place for his positive, warm and inclusive personality. He was simply a pleasure to know and will be long remembered. Paul Strickland.

Such a beautiful service for George. Our condolences to Ingrid and George’s family. We will remember George as a great bloke and he always had a smile on his face. We were lucky enough to share the Greek nights when you did your catering. Will never forget the time we came to Butters st to return dishes and George got out the grappa. I won’t share the rest of the story but it ended messy but lots of laughter and fun. You surly will be missed R.I.P. George Debbie and Kerry Taylor
