  13. To me Aunty wendy was like a second mother, and not because they alway got called each others name down the street but because Aunty Wendy was always close by checking in for a cuppa to listen to what was said, and lets face it the hugs were the same.

Aunty Wendy was always so full of love and a willingness to help others eventhough she herself was going through her own trials.

I fondly remember Aunty Wendy sitting at her chair busy makeing clothes for her many grandchildren and then later her great grandchildren

Family dinners all shareing a home cooked meal with homemade scones with jam and cream. It was always hard to get a word in around the table some times but i remember Aunty Wendy gaining great joy from her food being shared around and enjoyed be amongst the family, and you can’t forget the purple.

I feel like there is a huge void in the world now where Aunty Wendys love once was and i dont know if I’ll ever see the world the same way without her in it.

But what i do know is that Aunty Wendy is in heaven with Grandpar and Grandmar, sitting around a table with white doilys, haveing homemade scones and tea waiting for us to come and check in for a cuppa and a chat.

Love you Aunty Wendy and condolences and best wishs for for her Husband Ken, her sons Shane, Adrian and Peter and the many grandchrildren she has left behind.

  27. My beautiful Grandmother.

To have shared this earth with you for 28 years has been a blessing. To carry and continue all the lessons, morals, empathy and knowledge you passed to me will be my greatest honour.
Your reach knows no bounds, so even though you’re not available again today, everything I do I will be thinking of you and how you always put me on the good path with your words – or a simple look – or a big cuddle with leaky eyes.

I love you to bits and pieces ~ to the moon and back a million. Xo

  29. When the pain of the world feels too heavy
When sleep and rest become a mindless dream,
    Lay down your head
Your time has come, rest in peace.

Though we may ache for you
Know that we let you go
Free of pain, free of suffering
To live free in our hearts

We will remember your warm smile
    And comforting embrace
The sound advice of a life well lived
And your carefree laughter echoing through the kitchen

The skimming of the milk from the 1st bucket
Running to collect eggs and let the chooks out
Learning to ride motorbikes and pat the horses
Loading bales onto the truck and playing in the hay bales

And though tears threaten to fall at every memory
Every missed moment never to come.
I hope you knew, i thought of you every day
I loved you til the very end and forevermore.

Be the cool breeze on my face,
The warm sun on my back,
The gentle rain hiding my tears
And the stars to look upon when nights get tough.

Farewell my sweet fairy god mother
Thank you for being a lifelong friend to my dad
A sister and confidant to my mum
And another mother to my sister and I.

  31. An Angel gets her wings.
A hole left inside , that nothing can fill. The moments, the love , such strength of will. The care, the sacrifice, given freely for years. Kept all at bay, our heartache and fears . It’s your time to rest now , in heaven above. To be surrounded by abundance. The return of all that love , amongst other things . Im sure when you get there, he will hand you your wings…… Earned them forever, for your compassionate love.. Watching us always , from far above . ♥️♥️
Forever in our heart , mum , mumsy , kitchen fairy.
    Always your family,

  32. Where do I even start?
A second mum, a friend, the warm hug you need. Always ready for a cuppa before you even realise you need a chat. Support and genuine affection, sometimes in just a glance.
I love Wendy. She has always been a warm glow in my life, and I will carry that warmth with me always.
I am relieved that you are free from the burdens your body placed upon you, even though my heart aches that you’re no longer here.
Your soul is deeply etched into the hearts of everyone you’ve ever touched.
More than one in a million, Wendy. You were the only one. ♡

  34. Remembering Wendy

In one’s life some people have many friends, and some have a few, but those few are special, Wendy was my extra special friend.
I’ve known Wendy since we were kids, back in Kalangadoo, My earliest memory is of being babysat by Loraine and Wendy, (they were about 4 years older than us), one time my brother Trevor and I would taunt them with naughty questions, and enjoyed putting them on the spot, until they dobbed us in to our parents. AWKWARD!
Eventually mum and dad moved on. Years later though those early years were a little vague, we caught up again, I must have liked her this time cos I remember putting a handful of mud down her bikini! Her dad wouldn’t let her wear one after that. Sorry Wen!
Playing card games on the girls bed at Leroy also was a no-no, when their daddy came in I only remember one word “OUT!”
then once again my family moved on.

Who would have thought that many years later, our paths would cross again, and a childhood friendship would grow into something so special?
Wendy was married to Ken with their own dairy farm and their three adventurous boys. I was a single young lad then, living in a Kombi, working in the valley spending more time playing with her boys while Wendy was more the mother figure, must be from the time she babysat me?

Eventually I found and brung my own Wendy to the farm, and those two gals hit it off perfectly. That was the beginning of their mateship.

Every so often after our years of traveling, we found the farm a nice place to pull into. We’d try to sneak into a cow paddock with our little house on wheels, to stay for a month or two — sometimes six! it was pretty hard to sneak, That damn Jack Russell behind the window would alert the cockies flying over, that set the chooks cackling and they in turn starting the cows mooing, of course that would wake Ken up. GAME OVER!

seriously, it was a place where we could relax, catch up, share stories and enjoy each others company,
being the general meeting place, meeting the other family members.

Cuppa time We would often sit down together — Margaret, Wendy, Wendy-Wendy myself and Ken — and the boys with their kids and sometimes her brothers or sister would drop in as well. There was always plenty of chin-wagging, plenty of laughter, and never a shortage of things to talk about and ALWAYS a yummy cake, or Margaret’s bickies waiting, The last one was always mine.

In the early days there always seemed to be a party happening or get together family dinner night. Many a birthday also took place around that enormous bonfire. It was so hot you could hardly sit on the log seats without getting fried!
And while we were all enjoying ourselves, there was Mrs Wendy Marshall, working tirelessly to prepare a smorgasbord of food for the many family members and friends and one very musical son, I still love his song “Mother”
Hospitality was simply part of life at the farm.
My Wendy organised a surprise party for me once Hosted by Wendy Marshall They somehow managed to find a bunch of friends from around the state.
I vaguely remember parts of that night — although I suspect the haze of drink has conveniently erased a few details!
But I certainly remember the friendship and the effort that went into making it happen.
That was Wendy! someone who would give and share without ever expecting anything in return. And she didn’t reserve that generosity for just a few special people. She offered a special rubdown to everyone, they of course paid for the privilege, but some of us got freebies. She grabbed my hand once and in a minute made a painful wrist disappear, She was a miracle to nerves and muscle.

    .
While Ken, the farmer, was often out and about keeping the farm in pristine condition or checking on his cows,
Wendy was busy keeping the home fires burning, the cupboards stocked with her preserves, and there was always dinner on the table for her mum and Ken.
She had a way of making a house feel like a home not just for her own family, but for all the family and friends who came through the door.

She gave so much of herself to the people around her. She made you feel welcome. She made time for you. She shared what she had, and she did it without keeping score.
Over the years, we made so many memories together. Some were big occasions, others were just ordinary days spent talking, laughing and enjoying one another’s company, and looking back, it is often those ordinary days that become the most precious.

Now it is hard to imagine that the days of camping in the paddock, Knackering calves with Ken, to sitting around the table for a cuppa with Wendy or sharing another big farewell hug are behind us,

For so many of us in Wendy’s circle, things will never quite be the same again.
We will miss her warmth, her generosity, her hospitality, and that wonderful ability she had to bring people together.
Now I think of Wendy, I remember times passed. Leyroy, baling the hay, frosty nights on the farm, eels in the dam, foxhunting with Ken, flying into the fence, the parties, the bonfires, the horses, digging out Bart, cuppa time, the little boys, then BIG boys, now with kiddies of their own, the sloppy kisses from Ken, NO NOT THAT! and the friendships that made those months so special.

Most of all, I will remember a dear friend who gave so much and asked for so little in return.
Wendy-Wendy and I loved you dearly.
Every time we would leave the farm, Saying goodbye to our beautiful friends was never easy. There were often tears in our eyes, big hugs and kisses, and promises to catch up again.
Although Ken’s contribution to the farewells was a little disturbing, You certainly knew you’d been kissed by him.

Wendy, it was a privilege to have known you as a child, to find you again after all those years, and to share a bit of life’s journey with you and Ken.

but this time, saying goodbye is harder than ever, you left us so quick, not one us was prepared for your departure
But Thank you, Wendy, for the friendship, your laughter, your hospitality, and all those wonderful memories.
You leave behind a great many people who cherished you, and a lifetime of memories that will stay with us.
Rest peacefully, Wendy. You will never be forgotten by us.

  36. To Ken, Shane, Adrian and Peter

My condolences to you all Wendy/ mum will be missed by all dearly, but you guys I feel your pain and will also miss her dearly.

I remember the first time I meet Wendy at the farm at Glengarry back in 1982 where Peter Clark first introduced us, you were living in the old house, where you were starting to build the new foundations of your new home.
We came and left throughout the years.
We then had our own two girls and both you and Ken became their God parents while they were young, and We thank you for this.

Throughout the years we spoke often and we visited many times throughout the years and stayed,we where also good friends of Wendy’s parents too, we had many conversations and dealt with many things along the way.

During the past twelve years we started becoming very close, speaking weekly and then moved daily, keeping up with each other families and lives and our health issues and many other issues we had.

Wendy I treated you like my sister all these years as we became very close, and many times Ken was in the back ground having a chat too.

Most of all I’m going to miss our daily and weekly talks, Im going to be lost with out you, as you were my bestie of all time. I’m really going to miss you.

Love your best friend Wendy Clark.

  41. Dear Ken, Shane, Adrian and Peter, our condolences to you and your respective families. Although we did not have much contact throughout the years after we left Victoria I know what a well loved wife, mother and grandmother she was to all of you. We spent a lot of time together in our early years of our engagement and marriage. When Max and I married Wendy was my matron of honour and ken was groomsman. Max and I spent many weekends at the farm. I always remember the breezy old house!! Shane you were already here then along came Adi. Lastly Wendy and I shared our pregnancies with Petey and Ben arriving within days of each other. Wendy was always there for me with baby advice. There are many more stories and memories. Wendy will leave a big empty space in a lot of lives but many more good memories. Thinking of you all Maryann and Max Stuckey

  42. I remember the first time I met Wendy was probably about thirty years ago when Shane took me to the farm to shoot ferals (animals not people!) She was very welcoming and gave me something really good to eat.We later shot a massive feral cat.
Then every time I visited she and Ken and I would have a good old yap. I remember too how active she was ,and how supportive of her family;even coming to our gigs when she could. And she always came up and gave me a hug and made ne feel like family.
Shane,Pete and Adrian, you were really blessed to have such a supportive and accepting mum and I know how much you all will miss her.
And I/Jenny remember meeting Wendy/’Shane’s mum’ at a few parties and finding her to be a caring lady, genuinely interested in people.
We send you our love and will have your family in our thoughts and prayers. Glen and Jen

  45. Wendy was one of those truly special people who made the world a better place just by being in it.

She had the biggest heart, and every time you saw her, it felt like you were getting a big hug. Whether it was her smile, her warmth, or the way she made you feel welcome, Wendy had a special way of making you feel loved and cared for. She was the sort of person who left you feeling better just for having seen her.
She had so much love to give, and she gave it so freely to the people around her.
It’s hard to put into words how much someone like Wendy means to you, and even harder to say goodbye. But I think the beautiful thing about people like Wendy is that the love they give never really leaves us. It stays in the memories we share. Condolences to Ken, Shane, Adrian, and Family, somehow, it’s hard to imagine this family without Wendy she really was the centre of their world.

Wendy, thank you for your big heart, and for being the most wonderful person you were.
You will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Rest peacefully, Wendy. Sending you one big hug, just like the ones you always gave us.

Lots of love the Ford Family

  46. These are lovely tributes for such a special lady. Wendy had an amazing instinct to care, assist, lend a hand and be there. Our chats were priceless and now precious, regardless of how much time passed between them. It was a natural process to pick up where we left off. While she will leave a gap in your lives, what wonderful memories you have to remember her. So, to all of the Marshall/Smith family, I am very sad that I cant be there today. But, i can absolutely say that when we spoke of our families her smile was wide and beaming with pride. Look after each other and take care, love, Julie McKay
