  7. To Barb and family
Sorry we will not be able to attend Don’s service as we are in Queensland, actually near Don’s favourite place Boulia. We have fond memories of Don as a fellow active member of the Hazelwood Nth Fire Brigade. In the early days he was actively involved in all facets of fire fighting and as time went on he became one of the founding members of the brigade weather trailer team. Don was a very active participant in the annual Christmas Eve Santa run and had great joy in decorating the trucks and enjoyed the actual lolly runs. The Brigade was fortunate to have his involvement and generosity.
We have great memories. Ray and Mal Beaton

  9. Don was a very special, kind man. He had a big heart and was like another uncle to me. I met Don as a NAVY Cadet, he was my leader. After I left we stayed good mates. He was always there when ever I needed a friend to talk to, advice or just a bushwalk. Don inspired me to try my best, not give up and to give back to community. I will miss you so much!!

  12. I was very sad to hear of Don’s passing. My late mother, Alison, was a dialysis patient alongside Don and held him in great regard, often speaking of him with great fondness. May he rest in well-deserved peace.
My thoughts go out to Barbara and family during this most difficult time.
