I have never met such a kind, compassionate and genuinely good soul of a man. It was a true honour to have worked with Steve and be treated not just as a colleague but a freind. January 22, 2026Dearest Tams, Georgia, Noah, Charlie and families. I am so deeply sorry to hear beautiful Steve has passed 💔.
I feel incredibly grateful to have shared such a wonderful work friendship with him and you also Tams.
Steve was truly one of the kindest, selfless, gentlest humans you could ever hope to meet.
Steve’s love for you all was evident in everything he did. He lived for you all, and always spoke of you Tam and the kids with such pride, love and warmth 💗.
Steve lived his life, with integrity, compassion, a smile and quietly got on with things. I was so happy when I nominated him for team leader of the year and he won, as he was never one for accolades and was embarrassed by the fuss and cheers. But anyone who has ever worked with Steve, or had him as their boss knew Steve was one of the good guys – he truly was a sensational person and leader.
He will be deeply missed at work, and cherished by all who were lucky enough to know him.He was a beautiful human and my heart is broken for you all,

With a natural talent for everything you did, you quietly accepted the accolades with humility and grace.
I was always incredibly proud of you – and I still am.
Rest easy bro, I love you and I’ll “see you in the morning”. 🤍Dear Uncle Steve,
January 23, 2026
Thank-you for always talking to me and being interested in what I have to say. I loved talking to you about the world.
Thanks for being my partner in our Christmas Kahoots. I loved listening to your ‘Dad/Uncle jokes’ and thanks for always laughing at mine.
I will miss you.
Love Dax xDear Uncle Steve,
January 23, 2026
Thank-you for making my time with you fun and wonderful. My favourite memories of you are flying the drone, playing cricket and watching the footy with you on Grand Final days. I loved your jokes and spending time with you at Christmas time.
You were always enthusiastic, brave and courageous. You inspired me to face my fears of talking to people as you made it so easy and comfortable. You always had a good attitude even when Dad gave you a Collingwood stubby holder.
You were very supportive during our family games and in everything I did. You always made time fly by.
I will miss you forever. Christmas and Grand Final days won’t feel the same without your laughter, enthusiasm and happiness.
I will miss you.
Love Mozzie xSending our deepest condolences to Tammy, Georgia, Noah, Charlie and all of Steve’s family. Remember all those beautiful memories you all have made. Keep them close.
January 23, 2026
RIP Steve now looking down on your family being their angel to watch over them love Debbie & Kerry Taylor 💙Such a loss. Condolences and heartfelt sympathy to Stephen’s family and friends at this difficult time. As a work colleague Stephen was one of the best. Kind and generous with his knowledge and gentle leadership. He loved his family and was never without a story to share about them. Rest peacefully Stephen, you will be missed.
January 23, 2026Dear Uncle Steve,
Having you in my life was something truly special and no matter how much time passes, I’ll never forget those Grand Final days with you, watching my predictions for the game go completely wrong and trying to handball the footy through the target. The footy tipping was always a highlight throughout the year, even when some weekends didn’t exactly go our way. It’s amazing what you have started and the legacy you have created with it.
I always appreciated when you would ask me how I went in my footy games every Sunday and I always laughed when you would add a section in the review about me and my game.
Grand Final Day and Christmas will never feel the same without you but I know you’ll be there, somewhere.
Thank you for being such a fantastic Uncle and role model for me. You’re such a kind, caring, exciting and generous person who was always humble despite being highly skilled at so many things.
I’ll miss you.
January 23, 2026
Love Buckley xUncle Steve, where do I even start?
You were truly one of the kindest souls that I have ever met.

I loved seeing how comfortable you made everyone around you and how much Buckley, Mozzie and Dax trusted you. Their confidence and happiness lifted whenever you were around.Thank-you for your interest in my life and the support you showed me.
You had such an enormous positive impact on all of us.I am forever grateful to have had you in my life and to call you my uncle. It will never be the same without you.

I used to work with Stephen and was so easy to get on with, and he was in a management position, but actually cared for people, that type of person is hard to find. A Honor and a privilege to work with Stephen. The world has lost a very special person and I know he will be missed by so many. I send on condolences to the family and friends.

January 24, 2026
I am so very proud of the person you were, the values you held and the attributes you showed. You will be remembered as a kind, gentle and selfless man who touched so many people with your humble and unassuming manner. You made a difference in the world leaving it a better place. I am privileged to say that you called me ‘Mum’. You are sadly missed and will be forever in my heart. I will always treasure your last words to me, ‘See you in the morning’. xxSuch sad news. My deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to Tammy & family at this incredibly difficult time.
January 24, 2026
Steve was one of the best — kind, generous, a good sense of humour, with an uncanny ability to cut through the “politics and theatre” and come up with a clear plan when it mattered most.
Steve, it was a privilege and an honour to have worked with you over the years. You were truly one of the rare few I admired.
Rest peacefully, Steve. You will be deeply missed. When Tam brought you home 32 years ago to meet the family, we knew there had to be something special about you, and we were not wrong.
You fit in so well and everyone instantly loved you. You took us all on and embraced life not just with Tam and the kids but with all of us as well.
To us you were not an in-law, you were a son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and cousin. You went above and beyond with everything and everyone, organising get togethers, card nights, bbqs, Friday night take away night, holidays, getaways, road trips and the infamous footy tipping competition.
No task was too big or too small, if anyone needed help you were right there. We will miss you everyday.
We will miss your jokes, the chats, the missing or incorrect dinner items on Friday nights, the banter you had with all of us, fist pumps, helping Grampy with his phone and marketplace finds, helping nans with her stuff and comparing notes about the latest blues game. The kids will miss the banter with their uncle, joking and playing games with them and building Lego.
You were such an important and loved member of our family. We will look after Tam and the kids for you.
Love you always Stevie.Grampy, Nans, Trace, Daz, Cianese, Lola and Grayson.
January 26, 2026A huge loss.
Steve it was privilege to work with you. A genuine, honest guy that had a great way to bring out the best in me and those around you.
Thankyou for your guidance and knowing when to rein me in.
Sorely missed. Condolences to Tammy, Georgia, Noah and Charlie.
Life is not measured by longevity, rather it’s the impact you make on those you meet along the way.
January 27, 2026Such fond memories of many happy gatherings and holidays with Stephen Katie Christine and Michael. We loved spending time together holidaying in an orange grove in Mildura, hunting wombats in the bush at Launching Place, riding bikes in the bush and sharing so much fun together. Stephen you were always a gentle and kind person as a child and obviously as a man you continued to personify these attributes. Much love to Tammy, Georgia, Noah, Charlie, Christine, Katie and family. Gone way too soon.
January 27, 2026
Remembered with love Peter, Angela, Andrew, Michael and Emma Volpi.Fond memories of the endless summer holidays at Philip Island. Bugsy is forever grateful to Steve for all the time, effort and contributions he made to help him during his time at the Morwell Eagles Footy club. They made a great team.

Love you lots, and go blues 💙
Your son,
NoahDear Steve,
If only all the bosses could have been like you! I think there was a waiting list of staff wanting to be in your Team?!
So universally admired, infinitely kind and empathetic. You had a real gift for people management, which is quite rare these days.
Your face lit up whenever your family was mentioned, as your love and admiration for each one of them was so genuine and immeasurable.
When I saw you a couple of months ago, you greeted me with that familiar smile and made time for me, even though we were both on our way to appointments.
My deepest and most sincere sympathies to Tammy, the kids and all of Steve’s beloved family members.
Maybe our Blues can finally win in 2026, with a bit of divine intervention from Steve?
Blues Forever!
