LEE, Harold (Harry)
LEE, Harold (Harry)
Born 3 November 1926 in Romiley, Stockport, England. Passed away 2 September 2025.
Harry sadly passed away at Latrobe Regional Health Hospital aged 98.
Loving father to Amanda (Scott) and Peter (Bruna). Grandfather to Josephine, Conan, and Pippa. Uncle Harry to Erika (Ben).
Former husband to Monika. Lifelong friend to Ray (deceased), friend to Irena (deceased) and Beryl. He will be remembered by his family in the UK and Canada.
Harry had many roles in his long and interesting life, from munitions worker in World War II, to mason, ship steward, orderly in a tuberculosis clinic, opal miner, and truck driver. But his greatest role was that of father.
Thanks to the staff at LRH, Dr Gallagher, the staff at Just Better Care and especially his carer Cheryl, for their care in the last years of his life.
He will be remembered for his kindness, his dry English sense of humour, and his quiet intelligence.
Invictus
By William Ernest Henley
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.
Rest Well Dear Harold

September 8, 2025RIP Harry, I’ve known you for over 40 years and happy to call you a friend. You truly were one of nature’s gentlemen. I will miss our regular catch ups. No more buckets of plums every year and whatever you had in your veggie garden happy to give away. I know you so wanted to make it to 100 years and I really hoped you would. 98 years and 10 months of a life well lived.

Dawn & Cliff Whitehead xxIt was a pleasure to serve him at the Bank, he always made us smile and up for a chat, a lovely Gentleman
September 9, 2025The last of the ‘Lee’ siblings and my nan’s brother. My mum (Susan) has so many fond memories of you, she still has the gifts you sent her as a child. You was the first family member to visit her when she was born in Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport walking through snow when the buses stopped running due to it. You was a huge part of her life. You will be sadly missed by so many. Rest in peace Uncle Harold.
September 9, 2025I tended to Harry’s TV reception issues: first time about 16 years ago & few times since….He said he swam at the pool often & gave my wife and I a couple of huge pumpkins from his garden….pretty much the loveliest gentleman on the planet I’m thinking….til we meet again Harry, Grant
