Then over the years when we had our engineering business in Traralgon .Then in 2005 when Michael & I partnered with Rob & Graeme in Latrobe Valley Sands. “Bigger is better” was his motto and that’s what made the business what it is today. Sad News,

We met Rob when he was doing his Apprenticeship at Cattanach’s some 50 years ago. Always knew him as young Robbie Matthews and he was only 3 years younger than Norm! Happy to have shared some fun memories with his first truck driving job for us some evenings to Licola and back, building a 4 wheel pulp log trailer one weekend with Norm and taking him on a trip to Sydney in the W Model to keep him out of the quarry and shed for a bit so he didn’t muck up the healing of his broken arm.
An incredibly enterprising courageous and hard worker as well as a resourceful and strategic thinker. He was a gentle giant with a heart of gold and one who his family and community can be justly proud. We are grateful to call him a friend. The world will be less without him.

We’ve had the most wonderful friendship over the last 15 years or so. An amazing neighbour that we got to know almost like family. So many great times together. The beers, the food, the chats. Loved that Wednesday arvo phone call , “just opened a beer, do you wanna come up for a can?” Really gonna miss you mate. You loved our kids and loved watching them grow up in the street, walking from the bus with Louie our dog. Very cute! Great memories.
