MERRETT, Kathryn Miriam (née Cantwell)

Condolences to the family in this sad time – Kath always made a Ginger Fluff cake for the office workers at Mercantile Mutual. Will be sadly missed by her loving family. RIP Kath.

Kath was very connected to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, plus her sister Mary Hourigan and niece Kate Hourigan in recent years.

She remained very stoic when Alzheimer’s Disease decreased her ability to communicate. Her sense of humour and connection to family never wavered.

She missed Jim and died after we had all visited on the weekend.

We first meet Kath at Star of the Sea Torquay, a wonderful friend to Val. Rest in Peace Kath, sincere condolences to Trish and family.

Farewell Kath , thank you for your gentle loving kindness as a mother-in-law. You have given us many stories and warm memories rest in peace.

Kathryn was a treasured friend of our family for many years.
Our bushwalking and camping trips trips with Kathryn and Jim form many memorable memories.
She was dearly loved and will be sadly missed.

Tommy (Aunty Tommy) was a part of all my child hood memories, and as I grew up. As part of the very close knit Cantwell sisterhood, I often stayed with Tommy and Jim. Tommy was a mean chocolate cake maker, a creative person who loved to fill her home with beautiful things that made her happy. She loved her children, and grandchildren deeply. Like her sisters, she was a character and there is no higher compliment in my book. The world has lost a wonderful aunt, mother and sister. Rest in peace Tommy.
